Q. What does DocketBird do to reduce court fees?
A. We've written a separate article to address this question.
Q. I'm an attorney of record in a federal case. Will DocketBird be able to follow the case for free?
A. Yes, for the most part. On occasion, however, DocketBird may need to check the docket sheet to ensure that it is accurate. Some courts do not provide complete docket information in their filing emails. (In fact, some courts do not even provide docket sheet numbers in their filing emails!) In federal court, these checks generally cost ten cents each, but sometimes DocketBird will refresh the entire docket sheet if it determines it needs to do so.
Q. I'm a DocketBird member and I see "Pacer Account Auto Reload" charges on my card. What are those?
β
A. When DocketBird accesses court information on your behalf, we have to pay court fees. When we do so, we charge your card in accordance with your Court Access settings. If you want to stop DocketBird from automatically charging your card, you can change your court access settings to turn off auto-recharge.
